Meeting Minutes Page three August 10, 1988 questions and concerns of the Council. Commission member Fritchie presented "Factors Influencing Location for the Station 311. A copy of these factors is on file with the City Clerk. Lino Lakes Council members Harold Bisel and Andy Neal were present and commented on the proposed station. Motion by Neumann, second by Burgstahler to direct City Clerk to set up a meeting between the Centerville and the Lino Lakes City Councils to discuss proposed replacement of Station #3, motion carried unanimously. Motion by Fritchie, second by Wilharber to appoint Des Englund as Centennial Fire District Commissioner to replace Larry Koch; this term will expire December 31, 1989, motion carried unanimously. Clerk send a letter of confirmation to the Centennial Fire District and will begin advertisement for an Alternate Centennial Fire District Oommissioner. Meeting recessed at 7:10 p.m. Meeting resumed at 7:20 p.m. Motion by Wilharber, second by Fritchie to accept the minutes of the July 26, 1988 special meeting at which 1989 police proposals were discussed, motion carried unanimously. Lengthy discussion of police proposals took place, which included comments from Lino Lakes Council members Bisel and Neal. Some Centerville Council comments were: -no decision making input with Lino Lakes, -conflict of interest as per #11 of the contract, -receipt of the budget on December 31 of each year was not fair, -some residents are not pleased with the service, -liaison or commission should be implemented, -is Centerville getting the coverage for the dollar expended, -8 hour coverage by Centerville Police would not be satis,factory, -space is a problem, -start Centerville Police Department in 1990. Gene Houle, 7124 Centerville Road spoke in favor of a Centerville Police Department. Lorraine Cartier, 7048 Progress Road spoke of dissatisfaction with the Lino Lakes Police Department.
