I

I

~.

I

CC Meeting Minutes
Page five
July 21, 1988

unanimously.

Motion by Burgstahler, second by Wilharber that based upon the
written recommendations of the City Planner, the City Planner
will take no further action to extend the MUSA boundary for the
proposed Rehbein development north of Main Street until further
instruction by the City Council, motion carried unanimously.

Motion by Wilharber, second by Neumann to acknowledge a letter
from Mike Massie, 692S Tourville Circle regarding the nursery
plants on that property; this will be put on the agenda of the
first meeting in November 1988 for review, motion carried
unanimously.

The Mike Massie letter is attached to and made a part of these
minutes.

Motion by Wilharber, second by Fritchie that per the
recommendation of the City Engineer a letter be written to Mike
Massie, 6923 Tourville Circle stating that the wear and tear in
front of that property appears to be greater than normally
expected, due to equipment used for the nursery plants and
request that he pay $400 to the City for repair of that section
of the street, motion carried unanimously.

Motion by Fritchie, second by Burgstahler to direct Jackie
L'Allier and City Clerk to go to the City of Excelsior to look at
used Christmas decorations; they are allotted $500 to use for
this expenditure, motion carried unanimously.

Motion by Wilharber, second by Fritchie to hold a public hearing
August 24, 1988 regarding petitions received to vacate Westview
Street from Centerville Road to Main Street, motion carried
unanimously.

Myra Spijer and Maureen Asleson, members of the Bussing Task
Force appeared before the Council to give an update. Their
recommendations were:
-Send an official letter to the school stating where the
City stands with regard to this issue. The letter
should state items that are currently under
consideration.
-If and when a sidewalk were constructed on the north side
of Main Street between Mill Road and Progress Road, it
would be cheaper to do so during the reconstruction of
Main Street. If done so in this manner, the County
Engineers may donate their engineering. Also, there
are homes which are very near Main Street as it is. A
sidewalk in front of those homes would restrict those
homeowners further.
