<br />CC Meeting Minutes <br />Page Three <br />May 25, 1988 <br /> <br />appropriate; <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />A copy of the above Special Use Permit is on file with the City <br />Clerk. <br /> <br />Motion by Burgstahler, second by Neumann to grant a variance to <br />Kenco Construction for the Convenience Store/Car Wash with regard <br />to fuel pumps to be installed within the setback requirements of <br />current Ordinance #4; also to grant a variance to allow the <br />canopy to be erected within the setback requirements of current <br />Ordinance #4, justification shall be that the two items above <br />will comply with the proposed amendment and proposed Appendix A <br />to Ordinance #4, which is expected to be adopted, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Alan Brixius, Northwest Associated Consultants, Inc., appeared <br />before the City Council. Mr. Brixius pointed out, with regard to <br />the Centerville Economic Development Plan: <br />-Northwest Associated Consultants, Inc. does understand that <br />the City of Centerville cannot sign a contract for a <br />planning consultant for Centerville Economic <br />Development Plan until July 1, 1988, so that it may be <br />eligible for a Community Development Block Grant <br />(CDBG). Taking this into consideration, Northwest will <br />recognize authorization to proceed as reflected in City <br />Council minutes as being sufficient to begin work on <br />the Centerville Economic Development Plan; <br />-The contract between the City of Centerville and Northwest <br />Associated Consultants, Inc. will be given to the City <br />in advance of the July 1, 1988 date, so that the <br />appropriate changes in the contract can be made to the <br />satisfaction of both parties; <br />-In preparing the Economic Development Plan, Northwest would <br />put together a 10-year strategy, to be broken down into <br />several individual planning districts; <br />-In the preparation of the Plan, Northwest would include <br />drafting of Ordinances as necessary in outlining and <br />implementing the Development Plan and to include <br />meeting with the Metropolitan Council with regard to <br />the proposed Comprehensive Plan Amendment; <br />-The draft of the Centerville Economic Development Plan <br />should be available at the end of September. <br /> <br />Motion by Neumann, second by Burgstahler to approve the <br />recommendation of the Centerville Economic Development Task Force <br />to hire Northwest Associated Consultants, Inc. as planning <br />consultants to prepare the Centerville Economic Development Plan, <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />- I <br />
