<br />CC Meeting Minutes <br />Page seven <br />November 9, 1988 <br /> <br />major expenditures <br />November 21, 1988 <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />for the <br />City <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Committee at the <br />Council meeting, motion carried <br /> <br />PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS <br /> <br />Beverly Hughes, Assistant City Clerk, presented a letter to the <br />City Council regarding the wage that was budgeted for her versus <br />the wage that she earned in 1988. A copy of this letter is on <br />file with the City Clerk. <br /> <br />Motion by Neumann, that per the recommendation of the <br />Clerk/Administrator, and recognizing that the City is not <br />yet in compliance with the Comparable Worth requirements of <br />the State of Minnesota, with regard to administrative <br />salaries, the wages of the Assistant City Clerk and the <br />Deputy Clerk will be increased by $0.25 per hour, effective <br />November 1, 1988; a 5% increase for 1989 will be based upon <br />the new wage, <br />second by Wilharber, with the amendment that the percent increase <br />in wage has not yet been decided by the Council, and the <br />base for that increase should be looked at when the <br />percentage increase is determined, <br />Neumann accepts amendment, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Neumann to: <br />-direct the Clerk to contact Dennis Zerwas, 6882 Centerville <br />Road, to see if he is interested in filming the regular <br />City Council meetings to be aired live over Channel 16; <br />-if he is unable to do so, the Clerk will investigate <br />whether other persons are interested; <br />-the purpose of the filming would be to increase the lines <br />of communication between the City Council and the <br />residents; <br />-this is done recognizing that the City has the available <br />equipment, that Dennis Zerwas approached the City with <br />the offer to film the meetings, and that the City is <br />allotted approximately $400 per year to pay for the <br />costs incurred for such taping, <br />aye: L'Allier, Fritchie, Wilharber, Neumann; nay: Burgstahler. <br /> <br />Council member Wilharber noted that there is scaffolding on the <br />Cellular I tower that has been up there in excess of six months. <br />Clerk will contact Building Inspector to see what can be done to <br />take it down. <br /> <br />Wilharber also noted that there is a 12 inch culvert that sticks <br />up out of the 1616 Sorel Street property that should be grated <br />over. He noted that a small child could fall into the culvert. <br />
