CC Meeting Minutes Page seven November 9, 1988 major expenditures November 21, 1988 unanimously. for the City Park and Recreation Committee at the Council meeting, motion carried PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS Beverly Hughes, Assistant City Clerk, presented a letter to the City Council regarding the wage that was budgeted for her versus the wage that she earned in 1988. A copy of this letter is on file with the City Clerk. Motion by Neumann, that per the recommendation of the Clerk/Administrator, and recognizing that the City is not yet in compliance with the Comparable Worth requirements of the State of Minnesota, with regard to administrative salaries, the wages of the Assistant City Clerk and the Deputy Clerk will be increased by $0.25 per hour, effective November 1, 1988; a 5% increase for 1989 will be based upon the new wage, second by Wilharber, with the amendment that the percent increase in wage has not yet been decided by the Council, and the base for that increase should be looked at when the percentage increase is determined, Neumann accepts amendment, motion carried unanimously. Motion by Wilharber, second by Neumann to: -direct the Clerk to contact Dennis Zerwas, 6882 Centerville Road, to see if he is interested in filming the regular City Council meetings to be aired live over Channel 16; -if he is unable to do so, the Clerk will investigate whether other persons are interested; -the purpose of the filming would be to increase the lines of communication between the City Council and the residents; -this is done recognizing that the City has the available equipment, that Dennis Zerwas approached the City with the offer to film the meetings, and that the City is allotted approximately $400 per year to pay for the costs incurred for such taping, aye: L'Allier, Fritchie, Wilharber, Neumann; nay: Burgstahler. Council member Wilharber noted that there is scaffolding on the Cellular I tower that has been up there in excess of six months. Clerk will contact Building Inspector to see what can be done to take it down. Wilharber also noted that there is a 12 inch culvert that sticks up out of the 1616 Sorel Street property that should be grated over. He noted that a small child could fall into the culvert.
