<br /> <br />Fl'stival of Lakl's <br /> <br />City of Centerville <br />0' <br /> <br />~ <br />_i:;,,' <br />..~w. . <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Project Requirements Document (PRO) <br /> <br />3) The bridge style shall be of a Modified Bowstring Truss design <br /> <br />Clarification: The trusses should not extend excessively far below the roadbed (more "U" <br />shaped rather than 'H" shaped). <br /> <br />4) The bridge deck surface shall be concrete. <br /> <br />5) The railing style shall be vertical pickets. <br /> <br />6) The bridge surface finish and all railing shall be self weathering steel. <br /> <br />7) A concrete approach apron shall be installed for the bridge. <br /> <br />8) The bridge clear width shall be 12 ft upon the approval of any State or Regional <br />transportation authorities. <br /> <br />9) The bridge shall have a plastic/wood composite rub rail at handlebar officially designated <br />handlebar height. <br /> <br />10) The rub rail shall be installed such that any temperature expansion and contraction of <br />the material will have no significant impact on appearance or usability. <br /> <br />Clarification: For example, fasteners would be designed to allow for expansion and <br />contraction. Attachment to the bridge will not allow sagging, buckling, warping or <br />cracking of the rub rail material. <br /> <br />11) The rub rail shall be continuous without gaps and will allow pedestrians who choose to <br />use it for support to slide their hand freely along the top inside and outside of the rail. <br /> <br />Clarification: It is not necessary to meet ADA handrail requirements. <br /> <br />12) The bridge shall incorporate a toe plate at a height to prevent bicycle tires from going <br />over the edge of the bridge. <br /> <br />13) The bridge lead-in rails shall be of a length and angle to the path so as to funnel traffic <br />from the path onto the bridge. <br /> <br />14) The bridge shall be constructed to accommodate City of Centerville's maintenance snow <br />removal vehicles and equipment. <br /> <br />2009 Trail Bridge Project <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />03/1312009 <br />
