<br />Page Two - City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />November 12, 1986 <br /> <br />Carol Pelton, Park & Recreation Member, presented a letter <br />to the City Council from two members of and the liaison to <br />the Park and Recreation Committee. A copy of the letter <br />is attached to and made a part of these minutes. The letter <br />contains three main requests: <br />- Can the Park & Recreation Committee make formal <br />decisions without a full quorum? <br />- Can they work out a water supply with the Fire <br />Department for the purpose of flooding? <br />- Can the Council formally hire the following people <br />as rink attendants for this season at the November <br />12, 1986 Council meeting: <br />Rick L'Allier, 1973 Main Street, $3.75/hour <br />Mike Brinkman, 7221 Mill Road, $3.50/hour <br />Tony Rehbein, 7067 Brian Drive, $4.00/hour (Head Att.) <br />David Chu, 7087 Centerville Road, $3.50/hour <br />Shawn Campbell, 7193 West Robin Lane, $3.50/hour <br />Ron L'Allier, 1973 Main Street, $4.25/hour (snow <br />removal only). <br />Moti~ by Zimny, second by Fritchie allowing the Park and <br />Recreation Committee to hire the rink attendants as listed <br />above, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Fritchie glvlng attendants <br />access to city facilities in order to do their jOb, motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Zimny glvlng the acting <br />members of the Park and Recreation Committee the authority <br />to buy needed supplies to get the hockey rink going until <br />the end of 1986, motion carried unanimouSly. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />Motion by Zimny, second by Robischon to send the encroachment <br />letter as modified to all city property owners, motion carried <br />unanimously. A copy of the letter is attached to and made <br />a part of these minutes. <br /> <br />Motion by Robischon, second by Wilharber to ratify Terry <br />Wold as the Centennial Fire District Fire Chief, motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Discussion on sidewalk bids received from the Anoka County <br />Community Action Program. Motion by Robischon, second by <br />Fritchie to accept the bid from DeMarais Construction, Inc. <br />at $1450.00, motion carried unanimously. Clerk will <br />check to see if they will hold their bid until spring <br />and what kind of guarantees they have. <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Robischon to refer the rink <br />fence extension to the Park and Recreation Committee for <br />their recommendation, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Discussion on new city attorney. Clerk will get Burke & <br />Hawkins present rates. Councilman Wilharber went on record <br />as having no problem with the firm of Burke & Hawkins. <br />
