Page Two - City Council
Meeting Minutes
July 9, 1986

- Literal interpretation would deprive him of rights
enjoyed by others
- Granting this request will not confer special privileges
- This variance will not impair the property values,
public health, safety or welfare of the residents of
the City.
- Average setbacks do not apply due to the unique
location of this lot
- There is also a fifty foot vision zone to the street
on each corner so as not to impair safety.
Motion by Wilharber, second by Robischon to approve the variance
request to Ordinance #4, Section 34.01 allowing a 14 foot
addition be added to the present garage on the Clearwater
Drive side of 1756 Peltier Lake Drive, motion carried unanimously.

Appearance of Ray Petersen, 7262 Main Street. Mr. Petersen
was in attendance to discuss the need for a special use permit
to operate a home occupation in his residence. The Planning
and Zoning Commission recommended this is not a home occupation,
but a home office for the following reasons:
- he has a typewriter, copy machine, file cabinet, & desk;
- no repair, maintenance or modification of dental
equipment is done in the home, but is done out in the
field.
Motion by Wilharber, second by Fritchie to concur with the
Planning and Zoning's recommendation that a special use permit
is not required, motion carried unanimously.

Motion by Wilharber, second by Robischon to approve the charitable
gambling exemption for St. Genevieve's annual church picnic,
motion carried unanimously.

Motion by Zimny, second by Robischon to explore the possibility
of employing a different City Attorney, and to notify the current
City Attorney we are in the process of exploring this possibility,
no reflection on his current services, motion carried unanimously.

The Council felt it important to not become complacent about
the City Attorney position. Clerk will put an ad in the
League of Minnesota Cities magazine.

Motion by Wilharber, second by Robischon to order 6 Handicapped
Parking signs and posts with our Community Development Block
Grant money, motion carried unanimously.

There will be a Crime Watch Committee meeting on July 29, 1986
at 7:00 P.M. at the Circle Pines Library.

Motion by Wilharber, second by Fritchie to appoint Mary Foggerty
as a second Crime Watch Committee Member, motion carried unanimously.

Motion by Wilharber, second by Robischon to have clerk send
letter to State PCA and other regulatory commissions to find
out if there are any pipelines running through Centerville,
motion carried unanimously.
