<br />Mayor Swedberg asked if approval of this Resolution would give the Metropolitan <br />Council the right to give the City any type of mandates. Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that <br />approval of the Resolution would allow the City the opportunity to participate in any <br />grant funding that may be available. She also indicated that there have not been any <br />mandates from the Metropolitan Council in the past. <br /> <br />All in favor. Motion carried unanimouslv. <br /> <br />2. Delinquent Utilities 2002 Property Taxes Certification - Resolution #01-24 <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Broussard Vickers. seconded bv Council Member <br />Travis to approve Resolution #01-24 as presented. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg asked if Staff was sure that everybody on the list was delinquent. Ms. <br />Moore-Sykes assured Council that those residents on the list were delinquent and <br />explained that the new list provided at the meeting included those residents delinquent in <br />paying fur garbage pickup. <br /> <br />Ms. Bender indicated that the sewer and water bills were over 30 days past due. <br /> <br />Council Member Travis indicated he was concerned with those delinquencies noted with <br />an "occupant" and not a name. Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that the delinquency would <br />be assessed against the property identification number, thereby making it the <br />responsibility of the property owner. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg asked what happened once the Resolution was approved. City Attorney <br />Hoeft indicated that the amounts are put on the property owner's property taxes and <br />indicated this matter was a housekeeping item. <br /> <br />Council Member Travis questioned whether garbage was added in previous years. Ms. <br />Bender indicated that garbage was not added last year but said it has been in previous <br />years. <br /> <br />All in favor. Motion carried unanimously, <br /> <br />3. 2002 LiQuor License RenewallNew License <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that Council had received a memo from the City Clerk <br />regarding those businesses who have applied for liquor license renewals for 2002. She <br />indicated that Wise Guys Pizza would like to add wine to the license it is requesting. Sh~ Ad. / <br />then indicated that the Chief of Police had indicated that there were businesses that have VWl:fI <br />disclosure violations and explained that any establishment holding a liquor license in the <br />City is required to disclose whether it has any liquor violations during the year. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Page 6 of 17 <br />
