She also commented that <br />she feels COWlcil is doing as much as it can to be responsible to the citizens. <br /> <br />COWlcil Member Capra indicated that COWlcil had done the most extensive budget <br />review in recent years and had asked a lot of the Staff and she feels COWlcil consciously <br />looked over these budget numbers. <br /> <br />COWlcil Member Nelson indicated she had concerns with the budget but was prepared to <br />vote on the levy. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg appealed to COWlcil that there may be residents sitting aroWld the <br />kitchen table who are making decisions based on someone losing a job or wondering if <br />there will be a job tomorrow and that is a much greater stress than the finances of the <br />City. <br /> <br />Vote: Ayes - 3, Nays - 2(SwedbeI1!/rravis). Motion carried. <br /> <br />Council recessed at 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />COWlcil reconvened at 8:04 p.m. <br /> <br />8. Lion's Club Proposal for Fete des Lacs <br /> <br />COWlcil Member Capra commented that the letter from the Lion's Club had said that the <br />City needs to keep the festival in order to maintain Star City status and then indicated that <br />is not accurate. She also clarified that the City does not have $25,000 budgeted for the <br />festival it has $15,000. She then indicated she would like to table this request Wltil <br />COWlcil is able to meet with the committees after the first ofthe year. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Capra, seconded by Council Member Nelson to table <br />consideration of the Lion's Club proposal for Fete des Lacs. All in favor. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />9. Donation from Lino Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated the City had received a donation to its Park and Recreation <br />Committee from the Lino Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce. She also indicated that <br />she had sent a letter to the Chamber of Commerce thanking them for the generous <br />donation <br /> <br />COWlcil Member Capra asked if the Park and Recreation Committee had requested the <br />donation.
