<br />CENTENNIAL LAKES POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> <br />TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT FOR <br />CHIEF OF POLICE / DIRECTOR OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT <br /> <br />· POSITION: Chief of Police I Director of Emergency Management <br /> <br />· SUPERVISOR: Centennial Lakes Police Commission <br /> <br />· PURPOSE: The purpose of this agreement is to put in writing the terms of employment between <br />the Centennial Lakes Police Commission and the Chief of Police for the Centennial Lakes Police <br />Department. Hereinafter, the Centennial Lakes Police Commission will be called the "Employer" <br />and the ChiefofPolice will be called the "employee". <br /> <br />· TERM: The term of this employment agreement shall be for one year and shall be for the <br />calendar year 2002, effective January I" 2002. <br /> <br />· DUTIES: The employee is employed as Chief of Police and Director of Emergency Management <br />by the employer to administer and supervise emergency preparedness, law enforcement personnel, <br />police records, volunteers, animal control and code enforcement. The employee shall take all <br />reasonable steps to ensure the fair and impartial enforcement of the laws and provisions of public <br />safety within the confines ofthe cities named in the Joint Powers Agreement. Additional services <br />to be rendered by the employee may be detailed in the Joint Powers Agreement, by the employer, <br />The Department Rules and Regulation Manual, The Emergency Preparedness Plan, Federal and <br />State laws governing the Chief Law Enforcement Officer ( CLEO) and in the terms of the <br />Employment. <br /> <br />. SALARY: The employee's salary for 2002 shall be $ ??? <br /> <br />· INSURANCE: The employee shall be entitled to the same insurance benefits as currently <br />provided to other police department employees for the employee and dependents. This includes <br />health insurance, term life insurance and long term disability benefits. Dental insurance will not be <br />provided. The health premium cost paid by the employer shall be capped at a maximum of $725 <br />per month. Effective 9-01-2002, the cap will increase to $850 per month. <br /> <br />· CLOTHING ALLOWANCE: A clothing allowance of $500 per year shall be provided to the <br />employee for suitable clothing, whether uniform or business suits, as required by employee's <br />position. This allowance may also be used for dry cleaning or other clothing maintenance services. <br /> <br />· HOLIDAYS: The employee is entitled to twelve, (12) paid holidays annually. The employee is <br />encouraged to utilize accumulated holidays. <br /> <br />· VACATION PAY: The employee shall be entitled to twenty, (20) days of vacation leave <br />annually. Beginning with ten, (10) years of service, the employee is entitled to one, (1) additional <br />day of annual vacation for each year of service after ten, (10) years, up to a maximum of six weeks, <br />(30 days). The employee is encouraged to utilize accumulated vacation. <br />
