<br />Mayor Swedberg indicated he did not feel that Council should tie up the money from the <br />CD for the long term. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that shorter CD terms are available but the return is usually <br />not as good. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers suggested contacting the City's authorized banking <br />establishments to determine what types of rates are available. <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Broussard Vickers, seconded bv Council Member <br />Nelson to authorize Staff to check with the City's authorized financial institutions to <br />obtain the hil!hest rate possible on a three month Certificate of Deposit. All in <br />favor. Motion carried unanimouslv. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg indicated he had thoroughly reviewed the Ordinance and found several <br />issues that should be resolved. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers asked whether the questions were in general with the <br />ordinance or with regard to this amendment. She then proposed passing the amendment <br />and allowing this revision to go forward. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg said he had many questions throughout the document he felt should be <br />revisited before approving the ordinance. <br /> <br />Council Member Travis indicated that the Planning and Zoning Commission would have <br />answered the questions but received them at its meeting and had no time to review them. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson asked whether the list is long enough to warrant tabling the <br />matter. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated that addressing the list of issues would <br />mean that the City would have to start over with the public hearing process. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes asked Council to consider passing the dog kennel addition to the <br />ordinance if the ordinance was to be tabled. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg indicated this is a legal document and he feels it should be clean. City <br />Attorney Hoeft agreed the document should be as clean as possible. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers said a huge issue was made out of passing the garage <br />item and said it is too costly for the City to begin passing things one at a time. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg said the ordinance is wrong and he is not comfortable approving it. <br /> <br />Page 16 of21 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br />
