He then said that the City does not have that issue with the ones offered the
positions because they were at the top of the list.

Council Member Capra indicated she agreed with not hiring a second person right now.

Council Member Lee said he thinks there is a need for another person but looking at the
circumstances it would be the best decision to wait and start the process over.

Council Member Capra indicated that she would like to review this in three months.

Council Member Paar commented that Council said it was hiring two people and he feels
the need for the two people is there.

Mayor Sweeney clarified that Council is not saying the City will not hire a new person
but that it will be revisited in three months.

City Attorney Hoeft commented that it may be a better thing from a Staff perspective to
limit the hiring to one at a time anyway due to the work involved with training.

Council Member Capra clarified that some of the interviewers were saying they looked at
points but also the assets and skills that the City is lacking.

City Attorney Hoeft indicated that would need to be reflected in assigning points to these
people.

IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPDATES

1. 1540 Peltier Lake Drive (Update)

Council Capra asked for an update on the clean up at 1540 Peltier Lake Drive and said
that residents have expressed concern that the resident may be living there again. She
also asked if there is anything that the City can do to expedite the clean up of the
property.

City Attorney Hoeft indicated that there are time restrictions and no one is to be at the
property from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. but there are no time restrictions for the clean up
and the City cannot push that. He further commented that if the police find that the
resident is at the property during hours she is not supposed to be she can be removed.

Council asked Staff to provide the hours information to the Police Department and
confirm that extra patrols in the area were requested to ensure compliance.

Council Member Capra asked why the City Engineer had recommended that the City pay
for the additional storm catch basin for Eagle Pass.
