RK7. & PC Solutions) <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson indicated she had a personal conflict with this topic and excused <br />herself from the room <br /> <br />Jason Nelson from RK7 introduced himself and indicated he was present to answer any <br />questions Council Members may have. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg asked what the needs of the City were. <br /> <br />Mr. Nelson indicated he felt the needs ofthe City were quite simple and, although he did <br />not think it was necessary to go with a server, it was a good idea. He then indicated the <br />operating systems for the workstations and server are secure and he thinks this will be a <br />very standard system with nothing special or complicated. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg asked if the City would need a systems administrator to run it. <br /> <br />Mr. Nelson indicated the server would not be used as a workstation as its role will be to <br />distribute files and to run security. He then said that the server should take care of itself <br />and said the City may wish to purchase additional software if it intends to allow modem <br />activity on the server. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg asked if the City needed to worry about modem use of City files. <br /> <br />Mr. Nelson indicated the City would not need to worry as this is a completely internal <br />system <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg asked if a mirror drive was needed. <br /> <br />Mr. Nelson said he did not think it was necessary. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg commented that the majority of data that the City has is its accounting <br />data. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes said if payroll, budget and utility billing are included accounting data <br />accounts for the largest portion, <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg asked how much wordprocessing data the City had. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated there was substantial wordprocessing data since the City <br />keeps its Ordinances on the computer. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg commented that the issues are with the accounting computers and asked <br />how old the existing computers were. <br /> <br />Page 10 of23 <br />
