Johnson said up to six.

Mayor Swedberg asked about the backup system proposed.

Me. Johnson indicated he had proposed a DDS4 tape drive which can copy 20 gigs
without having to compress the data He then indicated that may be overkill at this time
but he wanted to allow for growth.

Mayor Swedberg asked fur more information on the warranty offered.

Me. Johnson explained the warranty is a combination of a Compaq warranty and a
warranty from Pc Solutions fur a complete three-year warranty on parts and Jaboc.

Me. Johnson indicated the warranty guarantees a 4 hour onsite solution with both parts
and labor which means a machine is brought in that is a duplicate of the City's machine
and any part that goes down can be had within four hours. He then commented that the
issue with white box machines is that if something needs to be rebuilt it is necessary to
track down the drivers and have the information reprogrammed.

Mayor Swedberg indicated that Mr. Johnson proposes using small business server 2000
but XP for the other machines and asked why.

Mr. Johnson indicated he recommended Office XP and Wmdows 2000 professional for
the workstations.

Council Member Capra asked if it was necessary to replace the monitors at this time.

Me. Johnson indicated he was asked to mirror the Logis quote and that is why monitors
were included. He then said that the City would be able to use the existing monitors.

Mayor Swedberg asked if there would be an uninterruptible power source on the server.

Me. Johnson said yes.

Mayor Swedberg asked if that would condition the line too.

Me. Johnson indicated that the system would provide 30 minutes of down time and would
then go down gracefully.

Mayor Swedberg asked if adding larger drives later would be an issue.

Me. Johnson indicllted that large drives should not be nece"Sary becaJlse most oftbe data
should be stored on the secvec not on personal computers.

Page 13 of23
