<br />I <br /> <br />2. Hand spreading or brooming of seal coat aggregate will be required of the <br />CONTRACTOR where non-uniform application of seal coat bitumen <br />and/or aggregate occurs, and small irregular areas. <br /> <br />3.07 ROLLING OPERATIONS <br /> <br />A. Conform to MnDOT Spec 2356.F except as modified herein: <br /> <br />I. Rolling operations shall be performed to allow the aggregate to properly <br />be embedded into the binder material prior to the binder "breaks." <br /> <br />2. A minimum of three rollers will be required. <br /> <br />3. Compact for a minimum of three (3) passes over all areas with five (5) <br />passes required on heavily traveled roadways with speed limits greater <br />than 30 mph. <br /> <br />4. Roller speed not to exceed five (5) mph. <br /> <br />3.08 INITIAL SWEEPING OF EXCESS AGGREGATE <br /> <br />A. Sweeping operations shall begin approximately one to three days after seal coat <br />has been allowed to set up. <br /> <br />B. ENGINEER to determine the exact date to begin sweeping operations <br /> <br />C. In the event that the CONTRACTOR has not completed the sweeping within the <br />specified time of the completion of application, a penalty of $100 per calendar <br />day will be charged until the sweeping is completed. <br /> <br />D. Utilize more than one power pick-up broom if necessary to meet time <br />requirement. <br /> <br />E. The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for the sweeping and removal of the <br />excess aggregate from the streets, which shall be disposed of off the project site <br /> <br />3.09 SECOND SWEEPING OF EXCESS AGGREGATE <br /> <br />A. Not to be performed unless specifically directed by ENGINEER. <br /> <br />B. If required, schedule 30 to 45 days from the date of the initial sweeping of the <br />excess aggregate material. <br /> <br />C. The CONTRACTOR shall notify the consulting ENGINEER of the schedule for <br />this sweeping. <br /> <br />D.
