<br />Applicants for initial hire or promotion must normally submit written application <br />material setting forth their qualifications and such other information as may be <br />pertinent and required by the City. <br /> <br />Applicant qualifications will be evaluated in one or more of the following ways; a <br />rating of experience and training; a written test; an oral test or interview; a <br />performance or demonstrative test; or other appropriate job-related exam. <br /> <br />4-3 4.2 Job Posting Appointment j\'uthority (see 4.4) <br /> <br />Position vacancies for regular full-time and regular part-time positions will be <br />posted on the official City bulletin boards in City Hall and Public Works building <br />for five (5) working days prior to filling the vacancy. The positing will specify the <br />title; starting salary or range; the nature of the work to be performed; how to <br />apply; the closing date for receiving application; and other pertinent information. <br /> <br />4-4 4-3 Recruitment And Selection <br />Pre Employment Medical Exams (see 4.5) <br /> <br />Subd. 1 Recruitment. The City Administrator or desiQnee is responsible to <br />manaQe the recruitment process to assure compliance with federal and state <br />laws as well as City of Centerville practices. This includes approvinQ all iob <br />postinQ. advertisements, placinQ of iob advertisements. addendums to the <br />application and other recruitment materials, The City Administrator or desiQnee <br />will meet with the appropriate supervisor to determine the best methods for <br />recruitinq, <br /> <br />When the City recruits a position externally. the position will be advertised in <br />selected newspapers, periodicals, newsletters and/or throuQh direct mailinQs, <br />All appointments shall be made by the City Administrator on the basis of merit and <br />fitness for the position. Merit and fitness may be determined bv written, oral and/or <br />other iob-relevant examination, as well as by consideration of education, past <br />experience and other iob-relevant Qualifications. The City Council shall confirm all <br />appointments to full-time positions. <br /> <br />Subd.2 Application Form. Unless otherwise stipulated by the City Administrator, <br />applications shall be made on written forms. <br /> <br />Subd.3 Application Review. The City Administrator and/orthe Department <br />Head shall review all applications and conduct iob-relevant backqround reviews <br />screeninQ all applications to determine candidate Qualifications. Initial interviews <br />may be conducted of the applicants whose Qualifications are best-suited for the <br />position. Any applicant not meetinQ minimum qualifications required for the position <br />shall be reiected for further consideration. <br />
