<br />The City Administrator shall then submit a list of names of eliqible candidates to the <br />City Council. <br /> <br />Subd.4 Examination. If examination' is required for a position, the examination <br />shall be administered by the City Administrator or his/her desiqnee at a time and <br />place established by the same. Upon receipt of the examination results, the City <br />Administrator or his/her desiqnee shall notify each person takina the examination in <br />writinq of the results of the examination. Examination scores will be adiusted in <br />accordance with the provisions of the Veteran's Preference Act where applicable. <br /> <br />Subd. 5 Disqualification of Application. An applicant may be reiected at any <br />time if the applicant fails to respond at any staqe of the selection process. <br /> <br />4-5 4-4 Appointment Authority <br /> <br />The Council, considered the Appointment Authority for the City of Centerville, <br />may, on the basis of merit, will make all full-time appointments. Appointments to <br />budgeted part-time, seasonal, intermittent, and temporary positions may be <br />delegated to the department heads upon approval of the Council. <br /> <br />4-6 4-5 Pre-Employment Medical Exams <br /> <br />The City may determine that a pre-employment medical examination is <br />necessary to determine fitness for any City position. Where a medical <br />examination is required, the offer of employment shall be made contingent upon <br />successful completion of the medical exam. <br /> <br />The physician conducting the exam shall be provided with a description of the <br />duties and responsibilities and other pertinent information about the position. <br /> <br />If the City determines that pre-employment medical exams will be required, they <br />shall be required of all candidates who are conditionally offered employment for a <br />given job class. <br /> <br />The information obtained during the medical exam shall be treated as <br />confidential medical records. <br /> <br />A licensed physician designated by the employer shall conduct the exam. The <br />City shall pay the cost of the exam. The physician shall notify the City <br />Coordinator Administrator that a candidate either is or is not medically able to <br />perform the job. <br /> <br />The City Coordinator Administrator shall inform the candidates of the results of <br />their examination. If a candidate is rejected for employment based on the <br />results, he or she shall be notified of this determination and may request further <br />explanation from the physician. <br /> <br />I <br />L <br />
