<br />Regular full-time and part-time employees who hove been employed for more <br />than thirty d3Ys are eligible for the paid holidays listed in the policy. If a holiday falls on <br />a Saturday, the preceding day will be the observed holiday. <br /> <br />For part-time employees, if a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following day will be <br />the observed holiday. If a holiday falls on a Friday, the preceding day will be the <br />observed holiday. <br /> <br />Subd. 2 Floating Holiday - Each employee gets one floating holiday per year <br />and it may be taken at the request of the employee, with prior approval of the <br />employee's supervisor. Floating holiday may be taken during the probationary <br />period. An unused floating holiday shall be forfeited and may not be carried over <br />to the next payroll year nor paid as severance. <br /> <br />7 -3 Holiday Pay <br /> <br />1. Worked - An employee required to work on a holiday shall be paid or <br />receive compensatory time at the rate of one and one-half times the <br />employee's base pay, plus the employee's regular rate of pay for the <br />holiday. <br /> <br />2. Not Worked - An employee not scheduled to work on holidays will <br />received their normal hourly rate exclusive of overtime premiums. <br /> <br />3. On Leave -Holidays occurring during an employee's vacation leave, sick <br />leave, or funeral leave will be considered a holiday and the employee will <br />not be charged for vacation on the day. <br />
