<br />8 VACATION LEAVE <br /> <br />8-1 General <br /> <br />Regular full-time and part-time employees who have worked for the City for at <br />least six months are eligible to eam accrue vacation leave from the date the <br />employee is hired. <br /> <br />Paid vacation is not available to temporary, intermittent, or seasonal employees. <br /> <br />8-2 Accrual <br /> <br />Vacation leave 'Nith P3Y will be earned following one ye3r to be taken during the <br />next year of employment. Full-time employees shall earn vacation leave at the <br />following rates: <br /> <br />Years of Service <br />J\fter first 6 months <br />After one year <br />4 yrs. or less consecutive service <br />After the fifth year (5-9) <br /> <br />Vacation Earned <br />One 'Neek <br />Two 'Neeks <br />6.67 hrs. per month <br />10 hrs. per month <br />Throe 'Nooks <br />13.4 hrs. per month <br />Four VVoeks <br />16.67 hrs. per month <br />Five 'Neeks <br />20 hrs. per month <br />Six 'Neoks <br /> <br />After the ninth year (10-15) <br /> <br />After 15 years (16-20) <br /> <br />After 20 years until retirement <br /> <br />Employees usinq earned vacation leave shall be considered to be workinq for the <br />purpose of accumulatinq additional vacation leave. <br /> <br />8-3 Requirements <br /> <br />1. Vacation leave shall not be granted until it is earned. <br /> <br />2. A vacation week will consist of the average number of regular hours <br />per day, days per week worked over the previous year, not to <br />exceed eight hours per day or forty hours per week. <br /> <br />3. In the event of termination, all earned vacation will be paid at the <br />employee's regular rate of pay. <br />
