Department - A branch of City administration with responsibility for one or several <br />assigned functions. <br /> <br />F. Department Head - The supervisor of a department. <br /> <br />G. Eligible - A person who has qualified for a position and whose name is on an <br />eligibility list. <br /> <br />H. Exempt Employees - Those employees not covered by the provisions of the <br />Federal Fair Labor Standards Act. <br /> <br />I. Full-time - Any employee whose position requires at least forty (40) hours per <br />week or two thousand eighty (2,080) hours per year employment. <br /> <br />J. Immediate Family Member - The following persons related to the employee shall <br />constitute an immediate family member: spouse, child, parent, grandparent, <br />parent-in-law, grandparent-in-Iaw, sibling-in-Iaw or sibling. <br /> <br />K. Job Classification - A group of positions sufficiently alike in duties, qualifications, <br />authority and responsibility to warrant the same job title, grade and pay schedule <br />for all positions in the group. <br /> <br />L. Job Description - The written description of a job containing a title, a statement of <br />duties, authority and responsibilities of the job, and the qualifications deemed <br />necessary and/or desirable for the satisfactory performance of the duties of the <br />job. <br /> <br />M. Lay-off - The separation of an employee from employment due to elimination of a <br />position. <br /> <br />N. Non-Exempt Employees - Those employees covered by the Federal Fair Labor <br />Standards Act. <br /> <br />O. Overtime - Time worked in excess of forty (40) hours per week or in excess of the <br />employee's normal work schedule as established by the employer. <br /> <br />P. Part-time - An employee whose position requires less than forty (40) hours per <br />week or two thousand eighty (2,080) hours per year employment. <br /> <br />Q. Performance Report - A review of an employee's performance by the employer's <br />supervisor to communicate an employee's strengths or deficiencies, as well as <br />expectation for improvement. <br /> <br />R. Personnel Director - The supervisor of the Personnel Office who assists in the <br />
