A tra/!!,c signal is already plannedfor the intersection of 14dh Street and TH 61. If
142" Street or 147lh Street were chosen there would be a need for more traffic signals. That
many traffic signals within that short a distance will cause more traffic issues.

The 140lh Street alignment offers the most flexibility for future growth and expansion when
dealing with traffic issues.

Prefer that homes rather than businesses be impacted on 14dh Street.

This alignment may encourage more commercial business to move in along Fenway Avenue.

. 142nd Street Alignment:

The alignment would create less wetland, floodplain and right-orway impacts than the other
alignment alternatives.

. 14S'h Street Alignment (existing location):

The alignment impacts the affordable housing at the intersection ofCSAH 8 and TH 61.

Can the houses on the south side ofCSAH 8 near the intersection with TH 61 be relocated to
the south on their lots?

Residents along CSAH 8 near the intersection with TH 61 experience difficulty accessing the
roadway due to heavy traffic volumes.

If this route is chosen, homes along existing CSAH 8 would need to be bought, and there is a
concern about finding comparable housing.

Choose this alternative, eliminate my house and relocate me.

Take out both sides of houses on 145lh Street and keep the same route.

If 1451h Street is chosen, the City could acquire both sides. More commercial land is
available, which is value/investment to the City.

I don't want to live in a "fishbowl" that increased traffic would create.

Excessive noise is an issue due to heavy truck traffic.

Select one of the other alignment alternatives and construct a cul-de-sac on 145lh Street.

This alignment would affect the entire neighborhood.

There will be access issues and the road curvature needs to be fixed if this alignment is
chosen. .

The improvements should stay on 145lh Street because the wetlands would be disturbed on
1401h Street.

CSAH 8/14 COMMENTS AND RESPONSES - Updated July 2002

- 2-
