Do not choose this alternative and relocate me because I have made recent improvements to
my home.

. 147'h Street Alignment:

The alignment would alleviate traffic using side streets as an alternate route to existing
CSAH 8 when congestion occurs at the existing intersection of 14th Street and TH 61. It
would also decrease the traffic congestion along existing CSAH 8 near the intersection with
TH61.

The alignment would create less wetland, floodplain and right-ol-way impacts.

Noise would be a big issue for City Hall if 14th Street is chosen.

This alignment would reduce traffic on 145th Street by diverting traffic comingfrom the
north.

Several neighbors are opposed to this alignment because it would affect the neighborhood.

Move the City Park and balljields.

Residences along 147th Street should be purchased if there are major impacts to those
properties.

The 14th St. alignment will create noise impacts and potential safety problems for children.

. General Alignment Comments:

Some residents are concerned about the loss of trees and parking areas in front of
residences.

There are concerns about the property resale values along all of the alternative alignments.

RESPONSE TO ALIGNMENT COMMENTS:

The four alternative alignments each have pros and cons, which are being analyzed. This analysis
includes an evaluation of the social, environmental, and economic impacts of each alternative,
including the issues summarized above. Based on the analysis done to date, it has been
determined that the 140th Street alignment will be eliminated. Environmental impacts, right-of-
way and construction costs, and travel patterns are the main reasons for eliminating the
alternative. The remaining three alternatives will continue to be analyzed.

CSAH 8114 COMMENTS AND RESPONSES - Updated July 2002

- 3 -
