<br />Mayor Swedberg asked if the City Engineer could guarantee Lot 1 will not be wet. City <br />Engineer Peterson indicated Rice Creek Watershed had approved and it will not be wet. <br />He stated the drain area would have new stann sewers and drain tile, which would help <br />also. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg asked each Council Member to indicate their preference on land versus <br />money. Council Member Broussard indicated money. Council Member Capra stated she <br />would have liked the Parks and Recreation Committee to explore different types of park, <br />such as a bird watching area. She indicated her choice would be money. Council <br />Member Nelson reiterated that money comes and goes but land does not. She would like <br />to take the land since cash fees have been taken for a while, even if development takes <br />some time. Council Member Travis indicated money and that Parks and Recreation can <br />always buy land if they want. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra asked the neighboring residents in attendance how many wanted <br />land, versus money. Seven indicated land, two indicated money. <br /> <br />Mrs. Buckbee opposed the polling of the audience. <br /> <br />Mayor SwedPerg stated asking a question oftbose in attendance is well within the rights <br />of the CounciL Mayor Swedberg indicated he also requested land, given his belief that <br />Lot 1 will be wet. <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Nelson, seconded by Mayor Swedbere to request <br />parkland dedication as opposed to park fees. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra asked if the City could pick where the 10 percent came from. <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated it was up to the developer. <br /> <br />VOTE: Aye: Mayor Swedbere, Council Member Nelson; Nay: Council Members <br />Travis. Capra and Broussard Vickers. Motion failed. <br /> <br />Council will take the park dedication fees. <br /> <br />Mr. Gonyea indicated that the Council is asking for removal of the lot lines on the plat. <br />According to ordinance, either a single family or multi-family home could then be <br />constructed on these lots. They had intended to designate in the Developer's Agreement <br />what type of housing would be built on which lot. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated that would be better for the CounciL <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers, seconded by Council Member <br />Capra, for discussion. to request cash for sidewalk in lieu of installation. <br /> <br />Page 1201'21 <br />
