The EDC received multiple estimates for printing 4 x 6 postcards to be sent to businesses
when EDC sponsors an event. The idea was to make the mailings more time effective for
staff and to have a Centerville orEDC logo that would be readily identified. The
Economic Development Committee received estimates from both media junction, a
Centerville Business which has done work for the city in the past, and Insty Prints. The
estimates were similar so the EDC decided to go with the local business, media junction.

Motion was made by Committee Member Smith, seconded by Chairperson Burke to
recommend to City Council that 2,500 - 4 x 6 postcards be ordered as specified in
the attached media junction estimate not to exceed $675.00. All in favor. Motion
passed unanimously.

FYI:

The Ecouomic Development Committee tentatively decided to hold Frozen Fete des
Lacs the weekend of February 11 - 13, 2004. This was based on the
recommendations of multiple groups that the event be held earlier in February as in
2003 the weather was too warm. It was also based on the information supplied by
Committee Member Smith, as follows:

The S1. Paul's Winter Carnival for 2005 is scheduled for January 28 - Feb 6. The car
races were held last year on the second weekend of the carnival so they would probably
be held the same time this upcoming carnival which would be the weekend of the 5th and
6th of Feb.

Also, fishing would close this upcoming season around Feb. 15th.

So with information, we can safely recommend that we hold the upcoming Frozen Fete
des Lacs the weekend of the 11 th - 13th to ensure that we could get the CentervilIe Lions
on board with their Ice Fishing Contest as well as having the Car Races.
