<br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Centennial Little League Request for use ofBaseba1l fields <br />The committee briefly discussed the letter submitted by Pat Mahr of the Centennial Lakes <br />Little League and the following motion was made: <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Peterson, seconded by Ms. DeVine to recommend to City Council <br />approval of the Centennial Little League's request for the use of the three (3) ball <br />fields at Laurie LaMotte Park from April 1 st - August I, 2001. All in favor. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Peterson will notifY Mr. Mahr of the approval of their request. <br /> <br />TruGreen ChemLawn Ouote <br />Ms. lien explained the quote submitted by TruGreen ChemLawn for the maintenance of <br />the turf at City Hall, Laurie LaMotte, Tracie McBride and Royal Meadows parks. Additionally, the <br />prices offertilizer are expected to increase by 300% - 400% due to the rising costs of <br />petroleum. Ms. Lien mentioned that Mr. Palzer recommends approval of the lawn care <br />services provided by TruGreen ChemLawn. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. LeBlanc, seconded by Mr. Peterson to recommend to City Council <br />the approval of the quote for services provided by TruGreen ChemLawn. All in <br />favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Letter from Gerald Sabol ofSunRarnp Solutions <br />Ms. Lien included this on the agenda after receiving a letter from Mr. Sabol indicating <br />their eagerness to help the committee with the planning of the proposed Skate/Wheels <br />Park. No action is required at this time. <br /> <br />Earth Day <br />Patricia Scott (LeJournal Editor) appeared before the Parks and Recreation Committee to <br />solicit involvement by the committee members in the Earth Day Celebration. Ms. Scott <br />explained that she has become the representative for the City of Centerville for the <br />planning of Earth Day. She commented that the Quad Cities would like to see the City of <br />Centerville become more active in the festivities offered at the Wargo Nature Center. <br /> <br />5 <br />
