Ms. Diane Mester, 6961 Dupre Road <br /> <br />Ms. Mester provided a hand out to Council that was a request to flatten the curb at the <br />townhouse she is moving into in Eagle Pass to allow access for her son's wheelchair. <br /> <br />Mr. March indicated Public Works had ground down another curb in the area and added <br />asphalt to make it easier to pass. <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Travis. seconded bv Council Member Nelson. to table <br />this matter to allow Public Works to research and determine if the curb can be <br />l!round down to make it accessible. All in favor. Motion carried unanimouslv. <br /> <br />2. Mr. Terry Sweeney (Questions - Mayor Swedberg's Goals) <br /> <br />Mr. Terry Sweeney addressed Council concerning the e-mail he received with the <br />Mayor's list of goals attached. Mr. Sweeney noted the copy of the document he received <br />had the dollar amounts listed and the price for some of the items concerned him. <br /> <br />Mr. Sweeney stated that he felt the dollar amounts suggested to go toward recreation <br />programs could be better spent in the parks rather than with program duplication. He also <br />noted he felt lighting the park to allow for adult softball games would bring money into <br />the City. <br /> <br />Mr. Sweeney noted he felt it was good to have an overall idea concerning trail <br />development within the City. Mr. Sweeney stated that in his opinion, things will change <br />based on how the City develops and he is concerned for setting a specific plan for the <br />trails. <br /> <br />Mr. Sweeney stated he felt the committees should bring their goals to Council and have <br />Council take it from that point. He also stated he felt committees should be making <br />r~commendations to Council and that there is a need for Council Liaisons on <br />committees/commissions. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg told Mr. Sweeney he was correct with his concerns and thanked him for <br />bringing them up. He then noted there was good public input at the open houses <br />concerning the goals list and that it was not a finished document. He then stated some of <br />the concerns could be based on how the document was written and he apologized for his <br />writing style. <br /> <br />Mr. Sweeney stated he was concerned for the number of work sessions Council has <br />scheduled. He pointed out the raise for Council Members was approved based on the fact <br />that Council Members were actively involved in other committees/commissions within <br />the City by acting as liaisons. He stated he was upset when the current Council decided <br />not to have liaisons. He then stated he felt that in order for Council to have a good grasp <br /> <br />Page 3 of14 <br />
