April II, 2001
Council Meeting Minutes

Mr. March passed around a colored version of the design for the sign. He noted there
were two (2) separate proposals in the packets. The fIrst is from Shea Architects to
develop and present three (3) options for the sign, develop pricing documents to get
quotes, and then review shop drawings, review construction, and installation. They are
also asking for reimbursable expenses of $200.

Mayor Swedberg asked where the money would come from. Mr. March noted it had
been discussed that the money would come out ofthe charitable account.

Mr. March noted he was not impressed with the design sketch provided by Color Sign
Systems. He then noted County Bank needed to know the location for the sign in order to
have the electrical roughed in for it.

Council Member Nelson stated she would like to get some other quotes, as this quote is
quite high.

Council Member Broussard Vickers stated she did not want to pay for someone to design
a sign. She then stated that if the City has a rough picture of what it would like the City
could give the design to the manufacturers and have them give prices.

Council Member Capra stated she wanted to see the sign done and wanted to work with
County Bank to run the power. She then stated she felt she could get ideas from
volunteers and would work with Mr. March for design concepts, as she does not want to
pay money to design the sign.

Mr. Bode, from County Bank, indicated the exact location did not need to be determined
this evening, as he will have an extra fIfteen (15) feet of wire run.

Motion bv Council Member Broussard Vickers. seconded bv Council Member
Nelson. to table this matter while Council Member Caora and Mr. March
investil!ate desil!ns for the sil!n. All in favor. Motion carried unanimouslv.

4. County Bank (Request)

Mr. Craig Bode, County Bank, requested that Council consider splitting the cost of
running the water main to the bank building.

Mr. Peterson explained that the pipe was originally part of the Hunter's Crossing
development and was added as an alternate at the time. He noted he received quotes to
do the work but the City elected not to install same. He stated he got a call from Mr.
Rehbein about the water main, sent him the same map, and it was put in according to the
Hunter's Crossing plan. Mr. Peterson then explained that a six (6) inch pipe is the
smallest pipe used and anything larger than the six (6) inches is considered a trunk main.
He further explained the pipe could be used for looping in another development if the
City desired.
