<br />/ <br /> <br />NOT <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />PARKS AND RECREATION <br />COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />June 6, 2001 <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Parks and Recreation Committee of the City <br />of Centerville held their regularly scheduled meeting on June 6, 200 I at City Hall, 1880 <br />Main Street. Chairperson Doug Porter called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.rn. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson Doug Porter <br />Wayne LeBlanc <br />Brian Walter <br />Karla DeVine <br />Tom Lee <br />Kathy Pell <br />Tedd Peterson (arrived at 6:35) <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Staff: Jill Lien <br /> <br />OATH(S) OF OFFICE <br /> <br />Tom Lee and Kathy Pell read their Oath(s) of Office. <br /> <br />APPEARANCES <br /> <br />Mr. Bill Bisek appeared before the Parks and Recreation Committee to discuss two (2) <br />items. The first was to help clarifY any controversary or issues that may have risen <br />related to moving the fencing at Laurie LaMotte Park to accommodate the softball <br />tournament during the Fete des Lacs Celebration. Mr. Bisek explained his suggestion of <br />relocating the fencing was only for a temporary period of time, and that they conld be <br />moved back after the tournament. He also wanted to clarifY that the original intent for <br />the ball fields was not for the youth, but for adults. After the fields were constructed, the <br />Little League approached the Parks and Recreation Committee. Mr. Bisek commented <br />that there could be double use of the fields. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />l <br /> <br />The second concern of Mr. Biseks was establishing concessions at Laurie LaMotte Park. <br />He commented that it would be very beneficial for the Parks and Recreation Committee <br />to start selling some type of concessions now. Considering the fuet that the Little <br />League, the Centennial Soccer Club, the Fete des Lacs Celebration and the Fete des Lacs <br />Softball Tournament are all held at LaMotte Park, it could generate a great deal of <br /> <br />1 <br />
