<br />B. BudgetJPersonnel <br /> <br />I. Explorer Post Funds <br /> <br />Chief Makela requested to use Explorer Post funds (a budget line item) for <br />uniforms for 3 new Reserve Officers. <br /> <br />Motion to approve the use of Explorer Post funds was made by Mayor <br />Capra. Seconded by Mayor Perlich. Motion passed. <br /> <br />2. Vehicle Set-Up <br /> <br />Motion to approve the use of the budgeted funds for vehicle set-up <br />was made by Councilmember Lee and seconded by Mayor Capra. <br />Motion passed. <br /> <br />3. Donation - Medical Supplies <br /> <br />Chief Makela informed the Board of a donation made by a family the <br />department gave medical assistance to. The Board requested Chief <br />Makela to send a thank you letter to the family. <br /> <br />4. State Equipment Grant <br /> <br />Chief Makela informed the Board of a grant awarded the department for <br />purchase of Tasers and defibrillators. Chief Makela requested that the <br />monies budgeted for equipment not be taken as a result of this grant. <br /> <br />A motion was made to <br />Councilmember Bailey. <br />Motion passed. <br /> <br />C. Approval to Hire 17th Officer <br /> <br />approve the State Equipment Grant by <br />Motion was seconded by Mayor Capra. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Mayor Capra to authorize the hiring of a 16th aud a <br />17th officer and to start a new hiring process if necessary. Motion was <br />seconded by Councilmember Bailey. Motion carried. <br /> <br />D. Replacement CSO <br /> <br />Chief Makela requested to hire another full-time CSO and the authority to start <br />testing for the position. <br /> <br />A motion was made to allow Chief Makela to start the process to look at <br />hiring another CSO officer. Mayor Perlich seconded the motion. Motion <br />passed. <br /> <br />4 <br />
