<br />Effective: 5/26/82 <br />City ofCenterville Ord. #14 <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br /> <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> <br />ORDINANCE #14 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING REGULATONS FOR LAND IMPROVEMENT AND STREET <br />CONSTRUCTION PROVIDING SPECIFICATIONS FOR CONSTRUCTION AND THE USE OF <br />CERTAIN MATERIALS AND PROVIDING FOR THE MANNER IN WHICH IMPROVEMENTS <br />AND CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE COMPLETED IN THE VILLAGE OF CENTERVILLE. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City ofCenterville does ordain: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. PURPOSE AND JURISDICTION. <br /> <br />Pursuant to the applicable statutory authority of the Village of Centerville to regulate, control <br />and maintain Village streets as provided n Minnesota Statutes, the following regulations and <br />specifications including the exlnbit and exhibits hereto are established. <br /> <br />The specifications set forth herein shall apply to all streets hereafter constructed within the City <br />of Centerville and are considered as additional safeguards made necessary through the rapid <br />growth and expansion of the City. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. DEFINITIONS: <br /> <br />For the purpose of this ordinance certain words and terms are hereby defined as follows: <br /> <br />Specification: A detailed statemeut of particulars. A detailed description setting forth the <br />dimensions, materials, workmanship, and general conditions under which any given type of <br />construction is to be undertaken and carried forward by a contractor for the City of Centerville. <br /> <br />Right-of-way: The land covered by a public road or other land dedicated for public use or for <br />certain private use such as land over which a power line passes. <br /> <br />Sub-base: The part of the roadbed to be constructed between an elevation which is twelve (12) <br />inches below the profile grade and an elevation which is three (3) inches below the profile grade. <br /> <br />Sub-grade: The top of the sub-base which is an elevation three (3) inches below the profile <br />grade. <br /> <br />Base: The top three (3) inches of the driving surface of the street being that part which is to be <br />stabilized with a bituminous material. <br /> <br />Page 1 of5 <br />
