<br />Effective: 5/26/82 <br />City ofCenterville Ord. #14 <br /> <br />Profile Grade: The grade shown on the profile which accompanies the plans for the project. It is <br />the proposed finished grade for the street. <br />Driving Surface: Width of the roadway lying between two (2) gutter lines as constructed. <br /> <br />Stabilized Base: Top three (3) inches of the driving surfuce in this ordinance stabilized using an <br />asphaltic material. <br /> <br />City Standard: The typical plan, cross section or detail of construction which is approved by the <br />City Council of the City of Centerville, for all construction of similar nature. <br /> <br />Plant Mix Bituminous Material: A sand and gravel aggregate mixed with a specified bituminous <br />material in a stationary or traveling mixing plant. <br /> <br />Drainage: The removal of surface and storm water from any given area. <br /> <br />Municipal Water Supply: The furnishing of water through a water system which is owned and <br />controlled by a municipality in which it is located. <br /> <br />Subdivision or Plat: A parcel of land divided into smaller parts such as blocks or lots; also <br />means a tract of land which is redivided anew after first division. <br /> <br />Unimproved Lot: One which bas been sold to an individual buyer in an unimproved state, that <br />is, without any building having been constructed thereon. <br /> <br />Partial Maintenance: Should include only that maintenance which is necessary to pennit access <br />over the public street to the homes or buildings which might be constructed in a given area at all <br />seasons of the year. <br /> <br />Rough Grading: The grading work which has been done to bring the area within the street right <br />--Qf -way to approximately the designed finish grade. <br /> <br />Bituminous material: Referred to in this ordinance is a cutback asphalt material or an asphaltic <br />cement. <br /> <br />Prime Coat: A light coat of bituminous material applied to a surface prior to the placing of a <br />mixture of aggregate or aggregate and bituminous material. <br /> <br />Street Access: The right and ability to pass from a lot to a public street without the necessary of <br />crossing private property. <br /> <br />Storm Sewers: A pipe line installed underground for the purpose of carrying surface water from <br />any given area. <br /> <br />Catch Basins: A structure usually placed at or near the gutter line of a street and designed to <br />receive surfuce or storm water through an opening and provide a passage-way into an <br />underground storm sewer or culvert. <br /> <br />Page 2 of 5 <br />
