City of Centerville
City Council Meeting

July 8, 2009
City Engineer Statz stated that it would be important that the City uses the correct plant
types and then periodically recheck the vegetation. He suggested having someone come in
to assist with maintenance in the second and third years. He stated that, once the correct
vegetation has been established, the permit would get closed.

City Administrator Larson stated that if Centerville does not properly maintain this
wetland area, the RCWD could hire someone, at Centerville’s expense.

Motion by Mayor Capra, seconded by Council Member Fehrenbacher, to approve a

st
contract with Prairie Restorations, Inc., in amount of $6,275-$9,075, for 21
Avenue/Backage Road Wetland Vegetation Management through growing season
2012, as recommended by Staff. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously.

5.Pedestrian & Bicycle Ramps/Curb Cut Outs on CSAH 14 at Lakeland Circle and
Peltier Lake Drive

City Administrator Larson reported that Public Works requested that the Parks &
Recreation Committee bring up the issue of the pedestrian and bicycle ramps/curb cut outs
on CSAH 14 at Lakeland Circle and Peltier Lake Drive. Mr. Peterson noticed a safety
issue with bikes and pedestrians crossing CSAH 14 at Lakeland Circle. Vice-Chairperson
Kevin Amundsen stated that there is the same issue at Peltier Lake Drive and CSAH 14,
but actually worse, because there is a hill and a corner at that location.

The Parks & Recreation Committee recommended that the City Council bring this issue to
the attention of the Anoka County Highway Department and investigate what can be done
to make the trail access at Lakeland Circle and Peltier Lake Drive more safe.

Discussion ensued.

Motion by Mayor Capra, seconded by Council Member Fehrenbacher, to send a
letter to Anoka County requesting that something be done to make the trail accesses
at Lakeland Circle and Peltier Lake Drive more safe, and to ask the County what
their rationale is, if they decline. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously.

6.
