<br />NOT APPROVED <br /> <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />MEETING <br />AUGUST 4, 1998 <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City <br />ofCenterville held its regularly scheduled meeting on August 4,1998, at City Hall, 1880 <br />Main Street. <br /> <br />PRESENT: Chairwoman Kathy Welk <br />Commission Members Linda Broussard Vickers <br />AI LaMotte <br />John Buckbee <br /> <br />STAFF I CONSULTANTS: Jim March, City Administrator <br /> <br />Ry-Chel Gaustad, CMC City Clerk <br /> <br />Dave Nyberg, HR Green Consulting <br />*********************************************************************** <br /> <br />Roll Call <br /> <br />Chair Welk called the meeting to order at 7: 10 p.m. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING(S) <br /> <br />Preliminary Plat Consideration for Travis <br />Mr. William McCougWy, Engineer (Rehbein Companies) gave an overview of the <br />proposed Travis preliminary plat, grading and utility plans. Mr. McCougWy specified the <br />wetlands are protected and the grading plan mitigates the water north. Mr. Dave Nyberg <br />explained that the high water level is based on vegetation and the grading plan may need <br />to be fine tuned. <br /> <br />Mr. Jim Jacobson (1941 73rd Street) noted the current elevation at his home is draining at <br />906 ft. when the correct drainage should be at 905 ft. <br /> <br />Mr. Nyberg stated that in a level area, the city typically required drainage at the minimum <br />elevation of 908 ft. The overland outlet is above 906.7 ft. and is designed to flow north. <br /> <br />Mr. Robert Steward (1995 73rd Street) noted that the water flows to the west, and <br />drowns the east properties. <br /> <br />Mr. Mike Harris (7296 Brian Drive) noted there is ponding in his backyard regularly and <br />his sump pump runs in the winter and in the summer. Furthermore, he hit water at 36' <br />when digging for deck post. <br />
