2.2 CURRENT DEVELOPMENT -1997 F
Centerville's City Planners estimate that development within the Metropolitan Urban Service Area
(MUSA) boundary as defined through 1996 will accommodate an additional 228 households. All
210 of the potential households within the 1996 -2000 MUSA developments are expected to be
served by City 'water. In addition, households provided with service connections that still usg
private water sources are expected to be added to the system over time. There are eight of those
water service connections from the Clearwater Meadows project, and 23 connections from /he
watermain extension to Centerville Elementary School which will eventually be added to the
City's system as the private systems become inoperable.
2.3 PLANNED DEVELOPMENT AND POPULATION FORECAST&
The City uses the Metropolitan Council's 1994 blueprint forecasts for population and household
numbers. The Metropolitan Council's predicted number of households for the year 2020 is 1,7 0,
and the total population projection is 4,650. The average number of persons per household was
calculated by dividing the Metropolitan Council's total population by the number of household.
TABLE 2-2.
