ARTICLE XXI — HOLIDAYS <br /> 21.1 The EMPLOYER will provide eleven (11) paid holidays for calendar years 1999 <br /> and 2000. The holidays will be designated as follows: <br /> New Year's Day Veteran's Day <br /> Martin Luther King Day Thanksgiving Day <br /> President's Day Day After Thanksgiving <br /> Memorial Day Christmas Day <br /> Fourth of July One (1) Floating Holiday * <br /> Labor Day <br /> * Floating holiday to be taken at the discretion of the EMPLOYEE with the <br /> EMPLOYER'S consent. <br /> ARTICLE XXII — SICK LEAVE <br /> Sick leave with pay shall be granted for all permanent part -time and full -time employees <br /> in accordance with the City's current sick leave policy. <br /> ARTICLE XXIII — SEVERANCE PAY/ RETIREMENT INSURANCE CONTRIBUTION <br /> 23.1 After ten (10) years of continuous employment with the City, and employee of <br /> this unit shall, upon honorable severance, receive one -half (1/2) of his /her <br /> accumulated sick leave to a maximum of four hundred (400) hours as severance <br /> pay. <br /> 23.2 Employees, retiring from the City's employment meeting the retirement <br /> requirements of P.E.R.A. and qualifying under Section 23.1 may elect to receive, <br /> in lieu of severance pay provided in Section 23.1, Employer -paid insurance <br /> premiums toward medical /hospital insurance coverage. Said payment shall be <br /> provided according to, and limited by, the following: <br /> A. Total premium payments shall be limited to the value of one -half (1/2) the <br /> accumulated sick leave of the employee upon retirement to a maximum of <br /> four hundred (400) hours. <br /> B. Premiums shall be only for those insurance plans or coverage available to <br /> current employees of the unit. <br /> C. In the event an employee electing this benefit chooses to discontinue this <br /> coverage, the remaining cash value (cash value upon retirement less <br /> premiums paid) shall be paid to the employee, and the employee shall <br /> forfeit future rights and coverage of this benefit as well as the right to re- <br /> enter the City's insurance plan. <br /> 13 <br />
