D. All payments made by the City shall end when the remaining cash value <br /> for that former employee equals zero or upon the former employee's 65 <br /> birthday, it shall be paid to the former employee. <br /> E. in the event of death of an employee, an employee's dependents have <br /> the option of remaining covered under the insurance plan until the <br /> employee would have reached their 65 birthday or to cash out the value <br /> remaining in the employee's severance account. <br /> ARTICLE XXIV — VACATION LEAVE <br /> 24.1 General <br /> Regular employees and permanent part-time employees who have worked for <br /> the City for at least six (6) months are eligible for paid vacation. Paid vacation is <br /> not available to temporary, intermittent or seasonal employees. <br /> 24.2 Accrual <br /> Vacation leave with pay will accrue at the following rates: <br /> Years of Service Vacation Leave <br /> After the first six (6) months One week <br /> After one (1) year Two weeks <br /> After the fourth year (4 -9) Three weeks <br /> After nine years (9 -15) Four weeks <br /> After fifteen (15) years (15 -20) Five weeks <br /> After twenty (20) years until retirement Six Weeks <br /> For clarification purposes after six (6) months a regular or permanent part-time <br /> employee will have one (1) week vacation accrued. <br /> 24.3 Vacation Leave Requirements <br /> a) Vacation leave will not accrue during the training period. However, if the <br /> employee becomes a regular or permanent part-time employee, vacation <br /> leave will be awarded based on the schedule above. <br /> ARTICLE XXV — STANDBY PAY <br /> Individuals assigned to standby duty shall receive One Hundred Twenty Dollars <br /> ($120.00) per week during 1999; and One Hundred Thirty Dollars ($130.00) per <br /> week during 2000, for each complete week they are assigned and have served in a <br /> standby capacity. Additionally, the call back provision detailed in ARTICLE XII of this <br /> Contract shall apply to each call out incident the Employee responds to while on <br /> standby duty. <br /> 14 <br />
