Shelter - Animals must be provided with sufficient <br /> shelter to protect them from the elements. During inclement weather <br /> the shelter must be large enough to comfortably accommodate the <br /> animal, be windproof and waterproof and contain enough bedding <br /> to provide the animal with insulation against the elements. Shelter • <br /> from the heat or shade must be provided from May through October. <br /> D. Veterinary Care - Animals shall be provided proper <br /> veterinary care in order to maintain normal health and to prevent <br /> the suffering of any sick or injured animal. <br /> E. Transportation - No person shall carry or cause to be <br /> carried any animal upon any vehicle or otherwise, without providing <br /> suitable racks, crates, carriers or cages of suitable size for <br /> the animal during transportation, unless the animal is placed in the <br /> passenger area of the vehicle. <br /> F. No person shall beat, torment, tease, or otherwise abuse <br /> an animal, or permit an animal fight. <br /> 0. Any person who, as operator of a motor vehicle, strikes <br /> a domestic animal shall immediately report such injury or death to the <br /> appropriate law enforcement officials or the animal's owner. <br /> Subd. 10. Dangerous and Potentially Dangerous Dogs and Animals. <br /> A. A City animal control officer or licensed peace <br /> officer shall determine if an animal or dog is dangerous pursuant to <br /> Minnesota Statute, Section 347,50, or has committed any of the acts <br /> set forth in the definitions, Subd. 3 (K) Dangerous Animals of this <br /> Chapter. if the officer believes, based upon the officer's professional <br /> judgment, that the animal or dog is dangerous, the Chief of Police <br /> shall notify the owner of such animal of his/her intent to classify the <br /> animal as dangerous. Such notice shall be sent to the owner of such <br /> animal by certified mail, return receipt required.
