June 2, 1999 Park and Recreation Meeting <br /> Motion by Mr. Navin to authorize public works to repair the swing by removing the <br /> existing hardware, installing new hardware and chains, create a border with <br /> timbers, bring in sand to fill, with all modifications up to City code, not to exceed <br /> $2000.00 Motion seconded by Doug Porter. All in favor. Motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> Statusoff naming of RoyaUvleadows Park - council mistakenly named it RoyaaYOak Park - <br /> Ms. Lien mentioned Ms. Gaustad will correct the error in the City Council minutes. <br /> Update on Acorn Creek Park (Letter from Councilmember Mari Nelson and <br /> Since we already discussed this with the Neighborhood Network Committee the Park and <br /> Recreation Committee felt this was already covered. <br /> _ '11 I _. ... • : ' <br /> Mr. Porter questioned if the City should notify the residents of the possible trail going <br /> through with the Trail Linkage Grant. <br /> Mr. March felt it would be easier and would cause less confusion if we waited until that <br /> property comes into development. Possibly the City could get the developer to pay for the <br /> trail. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Mr. March explained that Mr. Gene Houle has offered to build two more signs to be <br /> placed at Royal Meadows Park and Acorn Creek Park. These signs would look the same <br /> as the signs placed at Tracie McBride Park and Laurie LaMotte Park. <br /> Mr. Brown questioned if Mr. Houle would be donating his time. Mr. March confirmed <br /> that Mr. Houle would be donating his time, adding he is looking to have the City pay for <br /> the cost of materials. <br /> Motion by Mr. Brown to have Mr. Houle construct not two, but three signs to be <br /> placed at Acorn Creek Park, Royal Meadows Park and Eagle Park, not to exceed <br /> 5750.00 or it must come back to the Park and Recreation Committee for approval. <br /> Motion seconded by Doug Porter. All in favor.
