They often don't have time for
some long -term issues or opportunities. Here are just a few specific items that could be addressed by the Long-
term Committee:
1. Ensure any work done on sidewalks and trails on Main Street with new development (in particular, the
strip mall) will fit with a longer term plan. Currently, there may be risk that sidewalks or trails
implemented may not fit or work with sidewalks or trails done later.
2. Consider the Met Council Regional Park map below.
uw -
4 f,;
® A h crk
.. do
^ BLAI NE V1
•
F u' 17r
r tilt M 4- .... . 4 - ----J---
PINES
 L . Hugo also has plans to widen CSAH 8. It's a
natural to connect the Hardwood Creek Trail with the Chain of Lakes Park and the Rice Creek -North Trail.
The plan for CSAH 8 could be an opportunity for a trail connection. There is also a trail near Bald Eagle
Lake and White Bear Lake and there may be an idea to connect those to the Chain of Lakes Park. As far as
I'm aware, Centerville is currently not involved in these discussions, but there may well be opportunities to
connect some of these trails and perhaps obtain outside funding if Centerville would get involved.
t
