Meeting Minutes P & Z
Page Three
It appeared to be the general consensus of the Commission members
that Mr. Rehbein was jumping the gun, since there has been no
approval of this development. Mr. Rehbein left at 8:20 p.m. with
intentions of re- drawing his plan.
Discussion on the Acorn Creek Development. Cliff Thatcher was
present. Mr. Thatcher wanted to know where the development stood
with MUSA, and what kind of time frame he would be looking at.
Liaison Neumann stated that MUSA expansion is granted but not
dedicated to any one. The property in question needs to be
rezoned R2A. It is up to the City to put MUSA where they feel it
is needed. Everything is contingent on the approval of the
Comprehensive Plan by Metropolitan Council.
Chairman Tourville suggested to Mr. Thatcher that he get a copy
of the comprehensive plan from city staff. Chairman Tourville
gave Mr. Thatcher a copy of his letter from Metropolitan Council
on the review of Centerville Comprehensive Plan. Chairman
Tourville suggested Mr. Thatcher work with the property owners to
the East (Center Hill Development) as they are his competition so
to say for the MUSA dedication, and would need to work together
with the placing of East West collector streets.
Mr. Thatcher stated that he will come in and apply for rezoning
of the 37 acres, with the understanding this would not guarantee
MUSA expansion for this development. Mr. Thatcher left the
meeting at 8:50 p.m.
Chairman Tourville summarized Codification. He would like city
staff to count the number of pages in the ordinances for budget
proposes, as he felt the dollar amount quoted is lower than he
would estimate. Liaison Neumann stated that three years ago when
he looked into this the dollar amount estimated was around
$10,000.00. Chairman Tourville feels this is a worthwhile thing
and that monies should be budgeted for this.
Motion by Tourville, second by Drilling to table discussion of
the Codification of Ordinances until December 5, 1989 meeting for
city staff to count number of pages of ordinances, motion carried
unanimously.
Chairman Tourville summarized the purpose of a Residential
Development Guide. Liaison Neumann stated that the City Council
had tabled this item until the next City Council meeting.
Motion by Tourville, second by Vermeulen to table discussion of
Residential Development Guide until December 5, 1989 meeting,
motion carried unanimously.
