— NI <br /> P 6,r, Z Minutes <br /> Page four <br /> January 3, 1989 <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Dick Hubers, owner of Eagle Trucking, again presented hie plans <br /> for Vermeulen and Lindgren, because they were not present at the <br /> public hearing. Discussion followed, <br /> Motion by Welk, second by Drilling, to approve the variance <br /> request for Eagle Trucking for the following reasons: <br /> - the setbacks are met; <br /> - the business is "grandfathered in; <br /> - the addition enhances the community; and <br /> - granting the variance request will not confer on the <br /> applicant any special privilege that is denied by this <br /> ordinance to other lands, structures or buildings in <br /> the same district; <br /> and recommend its approval to the City Council, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> It waa the concensus of the commission. that tf Gunnar Pettersen, <br /> City Building Inspector, has further problems with interpretation <br /> of setbacks in the Commercial zone, it will be addressed at a <br /> future date. <br /> Wayne Kendrick, Pastor of Living Waters Lutheran Church, 6421 <br /> Tomahawk Trail, Lino Lakes, was present to ask for a Special Use <br /> Permit to hold Sunday services at the St. Genevieve 's Sclool and <br /> Day Care Building. He stated that they plan to use the east end <br /> of the building. <br /> Ted Erkenbrach, 7377 Peltier Circle, was present with Pastor <br /> Kendrick and stated that he did not feel that a Special Use <br /> Permit was needed because the building is already being used for <br /> church services. He further stated that they are renting not <br /> buying. <br /> Assistant Clerk stated that people bringing' their children to <br /> religion classes and dropping them off, as is presently on vas <br /> not the same as parking and staying there for services, as is <br /> being proposed. <br /> The Commission asked questions: <br /> - What time will the service be? 9:15 a.m. <br /> - Has the building been inspected for maximum safety <br /> capacity? He doesn't know. <br /> - How many people is the building coded for concerning fire <br /> protection? He does not know, but guesses about 100, <br /> ' - How much parking space is available? No one knew, but it <br /> was suggested that the east yard area could be used for <br /> parking. <br /> • <br /> Notion by Tourville, second by Drilling, that because the use of <br /> 1 <br />
