P Fa Z Meeting Minutes <br /> Page 2 <br /> June 7, 1988 <br /> • <br /> of the traveled roadway at 1645 Peltier Lake Drive which is <br /> described as follows: <br /> The easterly 100 feet of that part of Lot 8 of Auditor's <br /> Subdivision No. 47 Revised, described as follows: Commencing at <br /> a point in the west line of said Lot 8 located 154.63 feet south <br /> of Meander corner No. 26, which point is also the southeast <br /> corner of Lot 1, Block 2, Burque Addition No. 1, the point of <br /> beginning of the part to be described: thence north on said west <br /> line a distance of 114.63 feet to a point in the City of St. Paul <br /> Water Department Flowage Line on a deflection angle of 85 degrees <br /> 52 minutes to the right a distance of 130 feet to a point thence <br /> continuing on said Flowage Line on a deflection angle of 15 <br /> degrees 17 minutes to the right a distance of 504.2 feet to a <br /> point.; thence on a deflection angle of 90 degrees to the right a <br /> distance of 474.38 feet to a point; thence on a deflection angle <br /> of 11 degrees 09 minutes to the left a distance of 135.64 feet to <br /> a point of beginning. <br /> Together with a perpetual easement for road purposes over a strip <br /> of land 50 feet wide lying southerly from and adjacent to the <br /> above described part of said Lot 8 of Auditor's Subdivision No. <br /> 47 Revised. <br /> John Vermeulen, 1645 Peltier Lake Drive, presented the request <br /> and stated that the plan is to raise the garage floor because of <br /> water problems that have worsened since Peltier Lake Drive was <br /> reconstructed in 1987. <br /> Member Drilling arrived shortly after 7 p.m. <br /> Brian Miller, City Engineer, was present and stated that the <br /> elevation has been checked and it is the same as before the <br /> street. reconstruction. (A Iettcr concerning this is on file at <br /> City Hall.) The curb is higher, but the driveway and the street <br /> are the same as before. <br /> The Building Inspector has looked at the property and has <br /> informed the City that there are other ways of handling the <br /> problem. He advises that it is possible to regrade the front <br /> yard around the home to the lake. He further advises that there <br /> is space on the east side of the home for the proposed addition. <br /> Mr. Vermeulen stated that their case fits the requirements for <br /> justification for a variance because it is a special or unique <br /> situation. <br /> After Commission members asked questions and expressed concerns, <br /> Chairman Tourville asked for comments from the audience. <br /> L. <br />
