Peltier Lake Drive lot
The Committee brain stormed ideas for the park and
pedestrian system development. The committee identified several
areas where an expanded pedestrian system would provide increased
safety or complete a loop in the system.
It was noted that the roadway to the County Park is
currently narrow and dangerous for pedestrian travel. The
committee agreed that both Main Street and Centerville Road are
dangerous for pedestrians and are in need of 8 foot wide
pedestrian trailways separate from the roadway.
The county will include sidewalks in the upgrade of roadways but
local funding is required to install the sidewalks or trailways.
Long term maintenance is a local responsibility.
The Committee discussed the development of parks and
pedestrian systems in the areas yet undeveloped in the City.
These recommendations will be indicated on the plan.
Carol indicated that Maier Stewart will be producing a
computer assisted design (CAD) for the proposed trails and will
produce construction cost estimates. City staff will need to
provide continual updating of the plan.
Carol indicated that the city staff needs to make copies of
the plat maps for all of the City owned parcels of park land and
trailways, provide the Acorn Creek Preliminary Plat and pull all
ordinances, sections of the Comprehensive Plan and other policy
3
