■ <br /> Ms. DeVine questioned the use of the ball fields during the Fete des Lacs festival. <br /> Adding, there are approximately 32 softball teams scheduled to play on the ball fields at <br /> Laurie LaMotte Park that weekend. <br /> Mr. Mahr didn't feel it would be a problem scheduling the Little League for their ball <br /> games at another location on that weekend. Mr. Mahr was more than willing to <br /> participate in the dedication of Laurie LaMotte Park, adding the Little League would hie <br /> to participate in youth festivities. <br /> Motion by Mr. Navin, seconded by Ms. DeVine to accept the proposal presented by <br /> the Centennial Lakes Little League for the use of the ball fields in 2000. All in <br /> favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Mr. Navin thanked Mr. Mahr for coming to the Park and Recreation meeting, adding that <br /> the Committee is looking forward to working with him and the Little League in the <br /> future. Mr. Navin stated that this is a great opportunity for our youth in Centerville. <br /> CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES <br /> February 2, 2000 Park and Recreation Meeting Minutes — Tabled <br /> UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> Since the Park and Recreation Committee received a letter of resignation from Mr. <br /> Brown, the Committee decided to conduct interviews with Mr. LeBlanc and Mr. <br /> Peterson. <br /> Mr. Navin identified Mr. LeBlanc as being present at several of the Park and Recreation <br /> meetings and thanked him for his interest in filling the vacancy on the Committee. <br /> Mr. Navin asked Mr. LeBlanc to explain his goals and what he could offer the <br /> Committee. <br /> Mr. LeBlanc shared his interests in the trail system, along with his concerns with the <br /> parks and recreational activities available. Mr. LeBlanc explained his involvement with <br /> other organizations and feels Centerville could offer more to residents. Mr. LeBlanc <br /> expressed his willingness to assist in planning future parks, programs, trails, etc. Mr. <br /> LeBlanc also stated the importance of the Design Team vision. Mr. LeBlanc thanked the <br /> Committee for their consideration. <br /> Mr. Navin thanked Mr. Peterson for expressing his interest in becoming a member of the <br /> Park and Recreation Committee and asked Mr. Peterson to share his background with the <br /> Committee. <br /> Mr. Peterson explained that he has been a resident of Centerville for 12 years, adding that <br /> he recently began employment with the City's Public Works Department.
