I spoke to several residents that said they thought this was a
good move for the City. I will speak to City Attorney Jim Hoeft when he returns from
vacation to finalize the details in the purchase agreement.
* We have had trouble with our phone lines yesterday and today. US West is apparently
working on their main lines. We currently have one temporary line.
* I was pleased to be able to be a featured speaker last evening for the Lino Lakes Area
Chamber of Commerce. The group met at the Lino Lakes State Bank. 1 spoke about our
downtown revitalization efforts, available land for commercial and industrial development,
concerns about the traffic on Main Street and Design Team concepts. After the chamber
meeting, I attended the Centerville Lion's meeting. Nominations were accepted for new
officer positions. We are
all excited about building the club and leading the club in some new directions.
* Donations are continuing to arrive for the 2000 Fete des Lacs. Everything seems to be on track at this point.
Please help spread the word in our search for volunteers.
* Doug Koppy from the Rice Creek Trail Association stopped in City Hall this morning. He
is going to speak to every person that has filed a snowmobile complaint to see if there is a
way that the club can provide postings or signs to alleviate the problems that each
2/25/00
