Approved <br /> 2 -23 -00 <br /> CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> February 9,2000 <br /> 6:00 p.m. <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof; the City of Centerville held their regularly <br /> scheduled meeting on February 9, 2000, at City Hall, 1880 Main Street. <br /> PRESENT: Mayor Tom Wilharber • <br /> Council Member Dick Travis <br /> Council Member Terry Sweeney <br /> Council Member Linda Broussard Vickers <br /> Council Member Mari Nelson <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> STAFF: City Administrator, Jim March <br /> City Attorney, James Hoeft <br /> City Engineer, Tom Peterson <br /> Building Official/Public Works Director, Paul Palzer <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Wilharber called the February 9, 2000 City Council meeting to order at <br /> 6:00 p.m. <br /> II. PUBLIC HEARING (S) <br /> Community Development Block Grant <br /> Ms. Cathy Weidman explained how the Senior Outreach Program is a non -profit <br /> agency offering advocacy and support. Ms. Weidmann also explained that the <br /> Senior Outreach Program links seniors to essential services. The Senior Outreach <br /> Program is requesting a donation of $1,000. They served four (4) individuals Last <br /> year in the City of Centerville, and help keep the seniors in the community longer. <br /> The goal of the program is to prevent premature or unnecessary nursing home <br /> placements. <br /> Ms. Diane Peters of Arc Anoka, Ramsey and Suburban Inc. which is a nonprofit <br /> agency, is dedicated to improving lives of children, adults and families living with <br /> developmental disabilities. ARC offers assistance through support groups, pilot <br /> parent groups and through toy and adaptive equipment lending libraries. <br /> Motion by Ms. Broussard Vickers, seconded by Ms. Nelson to close the <br /> CDBG Public Hearing. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> • <br /> 1 <br />
