Planning and Zoning Commission <br />June 1, 2004 <br />Meeting Minutes <br />Ms. Bender indicated that Staff believes that the deadline is August and that the current <br />Ordinance #4 covers slaughterhouses. <br />Ms. Bender agreed to ask the City Attorney to look into Ordinance #4 but commented <br />there is a requirement with animals based on parcel size. <br />Ms. Bender indicated Staff would like to add PUD overlays to the zoning map. <br />Delete the building certificate of occupancy. <br />Mr. Palzer asked that permits for swimming pools be added. <br />Council Liaison Broussard Vickers indicated she would like to require that all sheds <br />require a permit. <br />Commissioner Klennert Hunt indicated she would like to keep the permit fee reasonable <br />to make sure it is manageable for residents. <br />Commissioner Wilharber said he was concerned with requiring the certificate of survey <br />due to potential costs. <br />The Commission agreed that fences would be allowed within two feet of the property line <br />with a zoning permit or on the property line with written permission or survey. <br />The Commission agreed that it would like to allow the potential for a 24-hour gas stations <br />but prohibit them in the M1 district and require a special use permit in the commercial <br />district. <br />Staff was asked to research the home businesses and business licensing. <br />The Commission discussed the proposal to allow six-foot sideyard setbacks and agreed to <br />provided it met with the approval of the Fire Chief. <br />The Commission agreed to 32-foot driveways for three car garages, 24-foot driveways <br />for two car garages and 12-foot for one car garages. <br />The Commission asked for information on how surrounding communities handle <br />temporary storage structures and PODS. <br />Driveways are to be six feet from the side lot line. <br />Accessory structure height 15 feet at peak. <br />The fence height for pools should be four feet. <br />Page 3 of 4 <br /> <br />
