3. Fete des Lacs 2001 Budget Process <br /> � Mr. Ra.y DeVine, Chairperson of the Fete des Lacs Committee, appeared before Council <br /> to ask if Council had any questions on the budget information he had provided in the <br /> �ouncil pack�ts. <br /> Mayor Swedberg asked for a one page surnmary sheet with a table comparing actual <br /> amount, budget amount, the difference between the budget and actual amounts, and a <br /> column for the 2001 budg�t amount. <br /> Mr. DeVine explained the Festival has up front e�enditures that will need to be paid for <br /> by the City in an amount that is slightly greater than the monies that will be made during <br /> the Festival �nd. r�funded to the City. <br /> Council Member Nelson thanked Mr. DeVine for the detailed report but agreed the one <br /> page summary sheet would be helpful. <br /> Council Niember Nelson noted there was not much record keeping last year and asked <br /> that ther� b� better r�cords k�pt this ��ar. <br /> Mayor Swedberg noted he was not in favor of charging for parking at the Festival. <br /> Mr. IIeVine expiained the Festivat Gommittee is considering charging for parking based <br /> an a recommendatian frarn the Minnesota Recreation Association. <br /> Mr. DeVine told Council he would provide the requested summary page to Council at the <br /> ne�t Council meeting. <br /> 4. Resoiution #Ql-QQ6 — I,aurie LaMotte Memarial Park Improvements Grant <br /> At�gli�atinn. <br /> Mr. March noted there was not a dollax amount in the resolution and indicated Staff <br /> intended to submit the pla.yground equipment in an amount not to exceed $SO,OOQ and a <br /> concessiQn/sh�lter building. <br /> Council Member Nelson questioned whether the Ciry's portion of the matching grant is <br /> included in the Parks and Recreation budget. Mr. March noted it has not been clearly <br /> stated where the matching funds wouid come from, stating if the grant is approved it <br /> would be befor� Gouncil tc� dis�uss. <br /> 1Vlayor Swedberg asked when the City would know if it received the grant.
