June 4, 2001 <br /> Communications Ad Hoc Committee Meeting Minutes <br /> Jesi Arola stated that when Media Junction was receiving newsletter they were getting <br /> them once every six (6) months and they would have to re-type all of them. Ms. Jesi <br /> Arola did state that on several occasions they have received same on disk. Ms. Jesi Arola <br /> questioned the other documents that the Committee may determine to be archived on the <br /> web site. Chair Brenner questioned a searchable feature. Ms. Wilcox stated that the site <br /> would have to be set up to search, but it would have to be database driven. Ms. Wilcox <br /> stated that if the arrangement of ordinances is easy to understand and navigate, there <br /> should be no need for a searchable database. Ms. Jesi Arola stated that the original web <br /> site was created by Media Junction three (3) years ago and is in need of a facelift. Ms. <br /> Jesi Arola stated that Media Junction could provide this service. Chair Brenner <br /> questioned whether this service would be at the $40 per hour rate. Ms. Jesi Arola <br /> concurred. Ms. Wilcox explained that subsequent to meeting with the client, Media <br /> Junction would design three (3) different looksldesigns to the site, which takes <br /> approximately 20 hours. Ms. Wilcox stated that if desired, Media Junction could provide <br /> just one (1) new web design and same on hours. Committee Member Bode questioned <br /> whether there were additional items that the Committee might want to choose to archive. <br /> Chair Brenner felt that the annual budget and financial documentation should be on the <br /> web site. Chair Brenner stated that information could be gathered from other <br /> municipalities' sites. Chair Brenner also felt that the basic, public data should be on the <br /> site and that other items would follow. Committee Member Bode suggested open space <br /> available for leasing, homes for sale or new businesses in town. Chair Brenner suggested <br /> detailed maps of developments. <br /> Ms. Jesi Arola suggested a community calendar that could show all of the meetings, <br /> events, Lion's meetings, etc. Ms. Jesi Arola stated that they could make a specific page � <br /> for the Lions. Ms. Wilcox stated that links can be made to other sites and other sites can ' <br /> link back to the City. Ms. Wilcox suggesting polling business, etc. to ascertain link <br /> ability and desire. <br /> III. CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES <br /> Chair Brenner stated that the Committee meeting minutes were not contained in the <br /> packet for review. <br /> IV. SURVEY UPDATE <br /> Chair Brenner stated that the deadline for survey submission was June 1, 2001. <br /> Committee Member Abrahamson stated that his co-worker had completed the program <br /> and it was available on disk. Committee Member Abrahamson volunteered to enter the <br /> surveys into the database. Chair Brenner stated that she had spoke with Committee <br /> Member Witzel earlier that day and she had stated that she would be able to complete <br /> same. Committee Member Abrahamson reviewed the program with the Committee. <br /> Chair Brenner stated that the drawing for the five (5) polo/golf shirts should be completed <br /> and Council's June 13, 2001 meeting. Chair Brenner stated that she would arrange same. <br /> Committee Member Bode suggested setting up two (2) different databases for <br /> committee/commissions, staff and citizens. Chair Brenner stated that Committee <br /> ' Member Bode would retrieve all survey boxes from local business and contact her and <br /> schedule pick up for same. Chair Brenner would then forward to Committee Member <br /> Witzel for entry. Committee Member Abrahamson will familiarize Committee Member <br /> Page 3 or 4 <br />
