All in favor. Motion carried unanimouslx. <br /> X. COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Council Member Capra reported the Life Time Achievement Committee is forming again <br /> and she made a nomination so she will not be chairing the committee. She noted Paul <br /> Montain would be the chair. Council Member Capra noted Mr. Wilharber and Mrs. ' <br /> Sharon Smith (in memory o fl have been nominated to receive the award. Council <br /> Member Capra noted she had asked Council Member Nelson to serve on the committee � <br /> as Council Members Broussard Vickers and Travis have rnade recommendations to the � <br /> committee. � <br /> Council Member Broussard Vickers reported she was not able to attend the last Planning � <br /> and Zoning Commission meeting. , <br /> Mayor Swedberg noted he attend the Police Cornmission rneeting where he received I <br /> statistics that indicated crime is 35% Iower than this time last year. <br /> XI. ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT <br /> Mr. March reported the tornado siren did not go off during the test last week. He <br /> indicated there have been problems with the siren and the City replaced a decoder board <br /> last yeaz. This time a technician came out and a bad switch was repaired to make the <br /> siren operational. <br /> Mr. Sweeney stated that at one time, Council discussed adding another siren in town. <br /> Mr. March stated he had asked Mr. Palzer to set up a meeting with the Fire Chief to <br /> discuss placing a siren on top of the fire departrnent that would be connected to the <br /> generator so that, in the event of a power outage, the siren would still function. He also <br /> noted that a siren on top of the building might carry farther and alert more residents. <br /> Mayor Swedberg asked if the City had considered battery back ups for the system.
